Watch: Tottenham forward scores absurd scorpion kick

Tottenham forward Dominic Solanke may have scored the goal of the season in a 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday, Feb. 1.

The 28-year-old contorted his body to score a rare scorpion-kick goal, earning his side a share of the spoils at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London.

Solanke’s acrobatic finish in the 70th minute completed his brace and ensured Spurs secured a point at home against City.

It looked like City would cruise to three points against Thomas Frank’s struggling side after Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo scored before the break to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.

But Solanke halved the deficit in the 53rd minute before scoring his second in absurd fashion 17 minutes later.

Conor Gallagher’s cross from the right was behind Solanke, who still somehow managed to reach his right foot behind him and make enough contact to loop the ball over the outstretched arm of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

‘I was trying to make something out of nothing,’ Solanke told Sky Sports after the game. ‘I’ll be watching that back a few times!’

The two goals were the first Premier League strikes of the season for Solanke, who only recently returned after four months out due to ankle surgery.

Tottenham remained in 14th place with the draw. City, meanwhile, lost valuable ground on Arsenal. Pep Guardiola’s side ends the weekend in second place, six points back of the Gunners.
